The Capital Area Construction Council is taking the lead on recruiting the next generation of construction workers.

Build Our Own is a campaign to provide real world learning opportunities to area students interested in pursuing a career in construction.

Building on the working relationships developed with regional construction education providers, members of the Capital Area Construction Council will provide the following opportunities to students interested in learning more about or experiencing the construction industry:

• Classroom talks
• Business tours
• LIVE! Project Tours
• Job shadowing
• Internships
• Mentoring
• School to Registered Apprenticeships (STRA) 

The goal of Build Our Own is to introduce young people to the opportunities that exist in the construction industry and provide them some direction as they begin to make their future career decisions.

Through Build Our Own students will learn that a career in construction is a career for life.
