The Capital Area Construction Council wants to see that your construction related education programs are a success.
We have established the 2008-2009 Education Outreach Action Plan which established five (5) objectives to better connect the construction industry with area K-12 students.
- Increase industry participation in Build Our Own.
- Partner with area high school construction trades programs in offering employability skills information specific to construction.
- Support the efforts of the Career Connection Work Based Learning Opportunity Sub-Committee.
- Partner with the National Association of Women in Construction and Lansing Community College to organize Block Kids! building block competition 2009.
- Identify scholarship opportunities for high school students pursuing construction related post-secondary education.
By working with entire construction industry, the Capital Area Construction Council brings the world of construction directly to your students with only one point of contact.
Through Build Our Own your students can take advantage of career awareness and work based learning opportunities provided by the construction industry. For a list of industry created education outreach programs, please click here.
