Over 50 people attended our last informational luncheon on September 24, 2008 and have a jump start on their competition in getting a Green advantage.
Brian Shultz, Construction Trades Manager at Grand Rapids Community College introduced the newest Green building certification called Green Advantage®.
Approved by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC), the Green Advantage® certification will not only increase the Green awareness of your workforce, but provide real value to LEED certified projects your company builds.
Where USGBC LEED Accredited Professional certification targets project managers, architects and designers, Green Advantage® targets supervisors, foreman, and other front line managers of general contractors and trades contractors. Green Advantage® certifies an individual better understands their role in the Green environment, not the intricacies of the LEED point system.
To achieve Green Advantage® certification an individual must pass a closed-book Green Advantage® exam. Individuals can take an open-book exam and truly gain better understanding of Green building by attending a 16-hour Green Advantage® training session.
The Capital Area Construction Council, Lansing Community College and Grand Rapids Community College have formed a partnership to bring Green Advantage® training to the Capital Area.
Two sessions of training are now available for your company to get the Green advantage.
