After the release of a report titled “Construction: Building the Capital Area’s Future”, a group of concerned industry stakeholders working with Capital Area Michigan Works! applied for a State of Michigan Regional Skills Alliance grant to form a construction council.

This new council would address the future concerns facing the industry raised in the report:

• Image
• Future workers accessing careers
• Recruitment of skilled individuals
• Enhance education and training

The Capital Area Construction Council began operations in January of 2007 and is part of Capital Area Michigan Works!
